Synopsis
Seo Hye Rim is a hot-tempered news announcer who was fired by the broadcasting company, but is later elected to the National Assembly and became the first female president of Korea. She faces political pressure and potential impeachment from Kang Tae San and his followers, but survives with the aid of the prosecutor Ha Do Ya.

Career history
Ko Hyeon-jeong entered the Korean showbiz scene since she won 2nd place in the 1989 Miss Korea Beauty Pageant. She was included in the cast for the 1990 KBS drama Love on a Jujube Tree which earned her the Best New Actress award in 1992. In 1994, she was again nominated for Best Actress for the drama, My Mother’s Sea. Ko Hyeon-jeong gained so much popularity in the small screen as Yoon Hye-rin, one of the lead characters in one of the greatest and highest-rated drama produced in Korean TV history, 1995 SBS drama Sandglass.
In 2005 after her divorce, Ko returned to the small screen in the drama Spring Days and she was again praised for her portrayal of the lead character, Suh Jung-eun. From drama, Ko Hyeon-jeong had her first try at comedy role in another drama What’s Up Fox? and her first action role in HIT. 2006 also marked her showbiz career when she debuted in the big screen after a decade in Hong Sang-soo’s movie Woman on the Beach, followed by Like You Know It All by the same director. Ko again, returned to TV and this time took her first trole in period drama in Queen

In September of 2010, Ko Hyeon Jeong received the Best Actress Award at the 37th Korea Broadcasting Award, and another Best Actress Award from The 22th Korea PD target awards.
Personal Life
During the peak of her career, Ko married Jeong Yong-jin, Vice Chairman and Co-CEO of Shinsegae and grandson of Samsung founder Lee Byung chull on May 1995. This was the most talked about wedding in Korea at that time. Ko announced her retirement from acting after to focus on her new role as a wife. They had 2 children together, 1 boy and 1 girl.
On November 2003, Ko and Jeong divorced after 8 years of marriage. Since their divorce, Ko hasn’t seen her children as Jeong took full custody of them.
Little is still known about Ko Hyeon-jeong. She is still considered one of the mysterious actresses in Korean entertainment, though she was more often seen in public these past years.
